80s Acoustic + A Flock of Seagulls

NPR's "All Songs Considered" provides a sample from the new CD called "80s Hits Stripped." The host takes all kinds of shots at the music of the decade, but I have to admit I just love the acoustic version of Tommy Tutone's 867-5309/Jenny.

One song not on "80s Hits Stripped" is "Space Age Love Song" by A Flock of Seagulls. That was one of the few pop songs of the 80s (along with 867-5309) that I actually liked.

My speakers died during the moving process...I'll just have to imagine some guy singing 867-5309

(No. 2 in a series of light-weight comments as I consider leaving the World 0' Blogs. I beleive I have expressed what is right with blogs over the months, perhaps at some point I should pontificate on what is wrong with blogs - which, trust me, will NOT be a Stew Re-Do)

Music from the 80s? Simple Minds. "Once Upon a Time" is one of the most underrated albums. How can you not love "Alive and Kicking" or "All the Things She Said" or "Sanctify Yourself"?

Having said that, I'm off to Pridefest this weekend where I will see and hear Berlin, BowWowWow, Martha Walsh, and En Vogue. Oh, well...it beats Wham.

Forgot about XTC. "The Mayor of Simpleton" seems somewhat appropriate for this blog at times.
