Sunlight and the Health Care Summit
Kudos to the Sunlight Foundation for their brilliant live coverage of today's White House Health Care Summit. As each wealthy special interest sycophant (i.e. elected members of the US Congress) speaks, the Foundation reveals what financial interests are in their campaign accounts. Excellent.
I teach Communication Studies (First Amendment, Classical Rhetoric, Civic Engagement, Rhetoric of Rock Music) at UW Oshkosh. Served two terms on Oshkosh City Council. Originally from Brooklyn, NY.

I was fortunate to have been able to watch the entire afternoon (11;00am until it ended) on the White House .gov live feed.
It was facinating t listen to how each representative chose their words and framed the debate. What was more interesting is the body language and the different types of eye contact throughout the proceedings.
I hope there are more televised summits in the future. We need more of them.
